Please join us for a  training weekend in the Hanover, NH region. Feel free to join for the day or camp at Storrs Pond for the full experience! The training is for intermediate and advanced / elite orienteers. Youth beginners can be accommodated if parent agrees to help out.  See event flyer with details at bottom of post. 

Base camp: Storrs Pond Recreation Area, Hanover, NH

Schedule: 

• Saturday - Burnt Mountain (9:30 am and 2:45 pm)(10 minutes from base camp)
• Sunday: Oak Hill (9:00 and 2:30) right at base camp
• Monday (am - elite/advanced training only - location tbd)

Training objectives: 

• Working with contour lines
• Map contact in technical terrain 
• Attack points and aiming off
• Entering and leaving the control with a plan

Training Activities - Examples: 

• Line Orienteering/Corridor Orienteering
• Golf Orienteering 
• Contour Orienteering 
• Relay Game (Saturday afternoon) 
• Course Review 

Fees: 
      - Maps and Training: $5/person (per day)
      - Camping at Storrs Pond Recreation Camp: $10/person (per night) - This payment is for staying in the group camping (a group of sites located   together). You can also book your own site directly at Storrs Pond Recreation Area.

Camping: You can join the group camping ($10 per person) or book at Storrs Pond Recreation separately (as of 5/8/24, sites were still available).
